Why Our Turkeys Are The Best
If you have never tasted a Bronze free range turkey you have missed out on a great eating experience. Our turkeys are allowed to roam the pastures and are fed on the finest locally produced ingredients. All turkeys are dry-plucked and hand finished to avoiding bruising or marking of the bird. They are fully prepared for your oven complete with giblets, which make an amazing gravy!
Our traditional method of rearing and preparing all out turkeys, helps to deliver a good old fashioned succulent flavour and texture, unlike mass produced birds you find in supermarkets.

For more than 80 years Rosamondford Farm has been run by the Slade family. What began with just fifty turkeys has grown into a flock of thousands, but the ethos remains the same: produce a delicious, truly traditional Christmas bird. Every turkey starts life on the farm as a one‑day‑old chick and is fed a simple diet of wheat and vegetables with no drugs, additives or growth promoters. The birds spend their days roaming pasture and their nights in warm barns, safe from predators.
Unlike fast‑growing supermarket breeds, Best Devon Turkeys rears slow‑maturing bronze hens for flavour rather than size. The birds are hand‑finished and dry‑plucked to avoid bruising, then hung to mature for at least seven days before being individually boxed with their giblets. This careful process gives the meat a rich, succulent texture and an old‑fashioned flavour.
Today the fifth and sixth generations of the Slade family continue to care for every flock, believing that contented, well‑looked‑after birds produce the best tasting turkeys.
